Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) was established on 12th Sept 2005, by Govt. of India Notification, amalgamating four Regional Rural Banks sponsored by e-Syndicate Bank in the state of Karnataka. Since then the Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB) has been playing vital role constructively in its service. In its limit the Bank has rightly earned the epithet of Peoples Bank by weaving itself inextricably into the lives of the people it serves. The bank is operating in almost 1/3rd of the geographical area of Karnataka state consisting of 6 districts of northern Karnataka (Bagalkote, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri ) and 3 districts of coastal Karnataka (Uttar Kannada ,Mangaluru and Udupi ).

Head quartered in Dharwad, it has ten Regional Offices (Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Belagavi, Chikodi, Gokak, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, Kumta and Mangaluru) situated in the above nine districts of its jurisdiction. It has a network of 629 branches and a total business of Rs.29202 Crore as on date consisting of Rs.16405 crores Deposits and Advances of Rs.12797 Crores .

It is a scheduled Bank with share capital contributed in the ratio of 50:15:35 by the Central Government, Government of Karnataka and the Canara Bank respectively. The Bank has a net worth of Rs.1210 Crore and is considered as one of the strongest and most vibrant RRBs in the country. The Bank is actively involved in overall development of rural areas since the very beginning. The upliftment of weaker sections and the down trodden has been our major agenda.

KVGB is catering to the financial and banking needs of more than 93lakh customers spread over in 2045 villages. In addition to the branch network, we are serving the villages through 689 Business Correspondents. The Bank has about 3100 committed and dedicated work force, who strive hard to change the lives of the common people along with the responsibility of taking this Bank to greater heights.

As the Information Technology is driving the banking world, our bank also providing digital Banking Solutions at par with Nationalized/New generation Banks. The Bank is in the forefront in implementing all the available modern technologies. The Bank is providing services of NEFT/RTGS/ATM facility, Net banking, e-KYC etc., apart from implementing IMPS through mobile banking channel. 74 ATMs, are also functioning along with one mobile ATM to reach out to the remotest villages.

The Bank's products are also just as impressive as the Bank itself. It well suits not only masses But also to the High Net worth customers. Since most of the branches are located in rural areas (427), the bank is striving hard to improve the living standards of the villagers. Priority Sector Lending has been the constant endeavor of the Bank to facilitate equitable and sustainable economic development by timely and hassle-free availability of credit for productive purposes to Small and Marginal Farmers, Micro and Small Enterprises, Retail Traders, Professional and Self Employed, Women Entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs from economically weaker sections. The outstanding advances under Priority Sector (excluding investment) as of 31st March 2021, aggregated to ₹ 10387.07 crore constituting 88.64 % of the total credit. Considering it as a social obligation the Bank is in forefront in implementing various Poverty Alleviation Programmes also.

As a green initiative, The Bank has been attaching much importance for solar energy driven home products like solar lighting, solar water heater since inception, thereby taking active participation in the propagation of non-conventional sources of energy. Bank has made a pioneering effort in conveying the message of usage of Solar Energy in rural areas. As an innovative step towards green initiative, the Bank has entered into MOU with Selco Solar Lights Pvt. Ltd and has introduced a unique MSME Loan product to purchase solar driven livelihood products like, sewing machine, Roti Making machine, Blacksmith Fan Blower etc.

The Bank firmly believes that delivery of financial services at an affordable cost to the vast sections of the disadvantaged and low-income groups is a National Priority. The Bank has done exceedingly well in this area. The Bank has Opened 18.11 lakh PMJDY accounts wherein total deposit mobilized is Rs.884.56 crore. Under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) the bank has registered 11.89 Lakh policies and under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) 5.14 Lakh policies. The Bank has enrolled 2.06 Lakh Atal Pension Yojana . All these efforts of the bank have been commended and PFRDA has awarded 17 Awrdards to the Bank. Recently the Bank has been adjudged as the Best Regional Rural Bank (RRB) under the "Regional Rural Banks Category", in recognition of its significant initiatives in the sphere of Digital Financial Services in response to Atmanirbhar Bharat by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) Mumbai.

The bank wishes to ensure that all the banking services are available to the masses without any obstacles. Thus insurance is also now available in the Bank. The bank is a corporate agent for carrying out Bancassurance business under all three segments i.e. Life Insurance (Canara HSBC, Life Insurance Corporation), General Insurance (United India, Bajaj General and Liberty) and Health Insurance (Care Health Insurance).

Management of COVID-19

Since our country went into battle mode to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic which started spreading in the last quarter of the fiscal, the Bank followed all the guidelines issued by the Government/RBI/NABARD/Canara Bank and SLBC from time to time. The Bank along with staff members has donated Out Rs. 22.50 lakhs to PM CARES Fund, Rs.20.00 lakhs to State Govt. (CM Relief Fund) and Rs.7.50 lakhs for constructing ICU beds with ventilator and other necessary equipment at Civil Hospital Dharwad through Rotary Club. The Bank has also launched Help line - (91086 99803) during the lock down period for its customers for giving clarification regarding loan facility.
